Ghazali Children’s Project

Abu Huraira reported:

The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

“Verily, God does not look at your appearance or wealth, but rather He looks at your heart and actions.”

-Sahih Muslim 2564

WHO WAS AL-GHAZALI?

Imam al-Ghazali was called the “Proof of Islam” because in both his life and his writings, he demonstrated how to perfect one’s character by understanding both the outer and the inner sunnah. He provides the entire family with a clear and simple map for living correctly – according to one’s fitrah, one’s innate, pure, true nature – by understanding and living by the inner, spiritually transformative meanings of Islam.

What is the Ghazali Children’s Project about?

The children’s books of the Ghazali project bring the teachings from the Ihya Ulum iddin of Imam al Ghazali to life for children, promoting a deep connection to the core principles of Islam, its philosophy and it’s purpose. There is a strong focus an reflection, spiritual understanding and self-correction. These aspects make the project unique and distinct from most other Islamic studies courses for children, both in content and quality.

The Hub Club Sunday School has been teaching the Ghazali Children’s Project fully since 2017. It is a core component of our curriculum with a one hour lesson every Sunday for all children age 5 to 16. We are recognised as a model Pilot School for the project from over 200 pilot schools worldwide, MashaAllah.

The Ghazali Childrens Project maps directly to our Hub Club ethos: Feeding Hearts, Inspiring Souls. Your involvement as a parent, in the learning from this work, will be of the greatest personal benefit to you and your children.

We also run a parents study circle for an hour every Sunday, where parents study the original texts of the relevant books of the Ihya Ulum al-Din of Imam Al Ghazali with one of our learned teachers. This aims to connect parents with their childs experience at the school and helps provide the momentum for them to implement their learning as a family.

Please visit the website for the Ghazali Childrens project (https://ghazalichildren.org/) for a wealth of information, as well as a forum for children to connect with others around the world.

The following film featuring the Hub Club, produced by the Fons Vitae Ghazali Children’s Project provides an excellent overview of how the project runs at our school.

The Hub Club featured in a documentary video from Fons Vitae, focussing on our Ghazali Project work and also provides a real feel for the Hub Club Sunday School.
